I wanted to break the news on how SIRVA (also Allied Van Lines), a worldwide relocation and moving company, mistreated its customer. My shipment was picked up early December last year, but as of today, I still didn't receive it. It's almost half a year and I have to live in an empty apartment without household essentials due to their deficiency in the services. SIRVA and its destination agent, Links Moving, advertise how their expansive presence in the Asia-Pacific region enables them to satisfy customers' relocation needs with the utmost attention to detail. But in reality, they knew nothing about customs tax and duties. They failed to communicate thoroughly with customers in regards to Customs taxes on personal effects, resulting an unexpected duties imposed on the imported goods. When confronted, SIRVA takes no responsibility whatsoever but said they do not provide import duty/tax consultation or advice. What kind of international relocation company is that. I paid over six thousands dollars on my INTERNATIONAL move only to get a reply like "we do not provide import duty/tax consultation or advice". It is totally nonsense and BS. They even threatened to apply storage charges if I don't pay for the delivery service to ensue. They are now holding my goods as a leverage to coerce me into paying a fee that incurred due to their misconduct and negligence. As a customer, I was not treated with respect at all. They obviously care nothing about customer experience. I wanted to break the news because I don't want more people to become victims of their bad services. SIRVA is not a company that would care about providing the best experiences, it is a company that will take your money and ignore you when problems arise.
