Surveyor and crew were OK. The coordinator was very poor, providing last minute information. Due to him we had many unexpected surprises due to last minute information provided. He also was not able to make decisions and referred every query to the company in US via which we booked Asia Express, but we needed solution in HK time, not US time. Very disappointing.

I paid for 4 months of unnecessary storage of my goods because I was informed that my furniture was inadmissible to China due to my visa being <365 days of validity which was not the case. When confronted the agent refused to admit that they claimed the furniture was inadmissible. 4 items were damaged during the move and AE took zero responsibility claiming that I opted not to have the extra insurance so they did not have to compensate me for anything. Overall I did not have a good experience and will never use this company again.

The moving crew were very professional arriving on time. Everything was well packed and eventually arrived at its destination safely. However the move was let down by the service. The surveyor didn't identify we had some long furniture that may not fit the lifts in the new apartment. I was also left to arrange access with building management at both ends for access to the lifts. Perhaps if Asian Express had completed this task, they would have identified issues with the destination and put a solution in place prior to arriving with a van full of furniture. I was travelling and out of contact the day of the move, so had left a friend in charge of providing instructions to the movers on the day. Asian Expresss was made aware that this person had my full authority over the move prior to the day, but a head office move manager still tried multiple email and telephone contacts to me for authorisation of additional costs on the day. Luckily I was able to respond or they probably would have left a sofa behind. However, this was ridiculous and totally unnecessary as my friend had agreed with the on-site move co-ordinator to pay any additional costs on the day in cash. I also had to follow up two days later to arrange the return of a sofa from the Asian Express depot that did not fit into the lift or the new apartment door, to the original apartment after I had not been contacted. Overall quality movers let down by a disappointing service experience.
